Why We Need To Replace Bennie?

The answer to the question of why we need to replace Congressman Bennie Thompson is very sad one.  Seventeen years ago the people of Mississippi 2nd Congressional District were looking for a leader that would move the district into the 21st century.  Unfortunately,  Bennie has lead the people of the district back into the 30s, 40s, and 50s.  Instead of completing  Rev. Martin Luther King's dream of a people who were only "Judge the by content of their character and not the color of their skin."  Bennie Thompson has led us back to racism.

It does not matter if racism is white on black or black on white, the end results is that our children suffer.  In 17 years Bennie Thompson has presided over one of the poorest districts in America.  Most of the schools in the district are failing by any standard.  Private sector jobs go any place but the Delta.  This alone is enough to demand a change.  I often quote from my grandfather who said "if your keep during what you are doing, you are going to get what you got."

What Bennie Thompson has been successful in doing is bringing welfare and promoting more poverty.  In Bennie's world  job creation is the the building of more jails or prisons.  Currently, thousand of men and woman sit around jobless waiting for another welfare check.  Before the recession the 2nd District was in a ecomonic depression.  Ten percent unemployment hide another fifteen percent or more of people who had given up on looking for jobs and destined to be one of the permanent underclass.

Under Bennie Thompson we don't have a plan to succeed but only to get  more of what we already have.
